General dentistry, or as it is more commonly called "family dentistry", is concerned with preventative, restorative and aesthetic dentistry services. As your primary dental care provider, the General Dentist is knowledgeable in all areas of dental care and oversees and coordinates treatment for your entire family. If the need arises, the General Dentist may refer you to a specialist for more advanced care that may be required for your particular needs and condition.

Specialty Care
Orthodontics
Orthodontics is concerned with the alignment and function of the teeth and jaw. Crooked or crowded teeth are often difficult to maintain, which can lead to improper wear of tooth enamel, tooth decay, gum disease and possibly tooth loss. Straight teeth also provide a more pleasing smile and improved self-confidence.
Periodontics
Periodontics is concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the gums and bone surrounding the teeth. Gingivitis is the initial stage of periodontal disease. Gum areas become increasingly red or dark and may bleed easily and appear swollen. At this stage, the disease is reversible. If not treated, gingivitis may lead to a more serious condition called periodontitis. Periodontitis is an advanced stage of gum disease and it irreversibly damages gums, bones and other structures that support the teeth. At this stage, more complex treatment is necessary to prevent tooth loss. Periodontal disease, if left untreated, can destroy the underlying jaw bone and soft tissues surrounding the teeth and lead to possible tooth loss and an unattractive smile.
Endodontics
Endodontics is concerned with issues concerning the interior of the tooth. Inside each tooth is the nerve (also known as the “pulp”) which provides nutrients and feeling to the tooth. When the nerve is diseased or injured, the tissue around the nerve dies. If the dead tissue is not removed the tooth will get infected and would need to be pulled. Endodontists have specialized training to remove the nerve, clean out the root canal and seal off the tooth to protect it. The dentist will then put a crown over the tooth to make it stronger.
Prosthodontics
Prosthodontics is concerned with the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth. Prosthodontists are expert at orchestrating the efforts of the various dental specialties that may be required to provide comprehensive care to patients with more complex needs.
Pediatric Dentistry
Pediatric Dentistry is concerned with the dental needs of infants, children and adolescents. Pediatric dentists have a special understanding of the oral development and disease processes of children and are capable of providing the full spectrum of dental services to a growing child. Communicating with children at their level is particularly important as it helps children manage their dental anxiety.
Oral & Maxillofacial
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is concerned with surgical procedures, such as extraction of wisdom teeth, misaligned jaws, tumors and cysts of the jaw and mouth, and to perform dental implant surgery. Oral Surgeons are also trained to administer anesthesia, and provide care in an office setting.
Other Services
Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic Dentistry is concerned with enhancing the appearance of the teeth using a wide range of techniques that may include restoration, placement, straightening, crowning, bonding, veneers and/or whitening. Through Cosmetic Dentistry, we are able to not only enhance the appearance of your smile, but improve the functionality of your teeth as well.
Implant Dentistry
Implant Dentistry presents the latest advance in restorative dentistry and best option for people who have experienced tooth loss and want to regain the look and feel of natural dentition. Dental implants are small anchoring devices that are implanted directly into the jawbone. Artificial teeth are attached directly to the implanted devices, creating what looks and feels like natural teeth. Implants are a more permanent alternative to dentures; for those wishing to keep their existing dentures, however, dental implants may still be desirable to serve as stabilizing devices that keep dentures securely in place.
