Do you think you might benefit from wearing braces but you are not quite sure if you need orthodontic care? Perhaps you are fairly certain that you do but you aren’t sure which type of system will work best for you. For all of your alignment questions and needs, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with us. During your visit, we may determine which treatment will work best for you, while answering your questions. For now, find out a bit more about your options.

The Traditional Route

If you end up requiring traditional braces for your orthodontic care, you will find yourself in a need of a system that uses brackets and wires. We will bond a bracket to each tooth that requires shifting. We will then use an arch wire to shift those teeth carefully into alignment. Fortunately, nearly every patient makes a good candidate for wearing braces, which can address a very wide variety of malocclusion types, from cross bite and over bite to under bite, open bite, overcrowded teeth, spacing, and more.

Options Within The Traditional Approach

We offer two types of traditional braces as systems for orthodontic care. First, we offer metal braces, which you are likely familiar with. This will include metal brackets and metal wires, appropriate for most types of misalignment. For individuals who feel unhappy regarding the esthetics of wearing braces made of metal, we offer clear braces. As the name suggests, they are difficult to see – in place of metal, we will use brackets composed of ceramic (in a shade similar to that of your teeth) as well as a clear wire.
